The UNICO Hotels brand is set to make its Caribbean expansion even more vibrant, with a new resort planned for Montego Bay, Jamaica. Parent company AIC Hotel Group confirmed this week that the new property is in development, targeting an opening no earlier than 2026.
This marks a major step for the UNICO brand, which has built a reputation for immersive, upscale experiences rooted in local culture. Ashe Tembe, AIC’s Senior Vice President of Global Sales, described the move as a “natural step, allowing us to bring the brand to new destinations known for their vibrant cultures and natural beauty.”
Details about the Montego Bay resort remain under wraps, but it’s expected to follow the high standards set by the brand’s flagship property, UNICO 20°87° in Mexico’s Riviera Maya. A second UNICO resort is also set to debut in Puerto Vallarta in 2025, paving the way for the Jamaica location to follow the year after.
Currently, rooms at the original UNICO resort average around $428 per night, offering a glimpse into the expected pricing for the Montego Bay destination when it opens.
This expansion is a promising development for Jamaica’s north coast, bringing a fresh wave of high-end tourism and introducing UNICO’s loyal guest base to the island’s unique charm
