Jamaica wins big at Winners Day at World Travel Awards

Following on the success in the Caribbean segment of the World Travel Awards 2021, Jamaica has again come out shining at the Winners Day segment.

Jamaica brought home a hat trick of wins as the World’s Leading Cruise Destination, the World’s Leading Family Destination and the World’s Leading Wedding Destination. This is certainly a great look for the Caribbean nation as the country continues to recover from the devastating effect that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the local tourism sector.

For the one of the agencies impacted by the win, the Port Authority, they sought to share how the latest win has impacted the entity. In a statement, they wrote “The Port Authority is continuing its winning streak, and we are very pleased to announce that we have won the 2021 World’s Leading Cruise Destination award at the @WTravelAwards. We want to say CONGRATULATIONS to Jamaica, as despite the incredible challenges faced by the cruise industry during the pandemic, this coveted award is a reflection of the strength and dominance of the Cruise Jamaica brand in the global market place. It is a testament to the quality of Jamaica’s cruise product which continues thrive and remains undefeated” went the message.

Also sharing the winners podium from Jamaica was the Sandals Group, who won in the categories of World’s Leading All inclusive Company 2021 and World’s Leading All Inclusive Family Resort Brand 2021 with Beaches. Its attraction arm Island Routes took home the award for World’s Leading Caribbean Attraction Company 2021.
