Jamaica Linkages Network drops new Christmas in July catalogue

Following on another successful staging of its Christmas in July shopping event, the Jamaica Linkages Network (JLN) has put together another catalogue to showcase some of the products that were on offer.

Over 150 local producers had participated in this year’s staging of the event even though the adherence to COVID-19 protocols had made the one-day trade show a hybrid affair (virtual and face to face).

The catalogue is an added feature that allows the artisans, manufacturers and producers involved to have an expanded reach with their products. The catalogue groups the products in the categories of food, decor, fashion, aromatherapy, souvenirs among other others.

Chair of the JLN, Adam Stewart, remarked that there was remarkable improvement in terms of participation over last year and therefore the catalogue is therefore a boost to the proceedings. “This continues to show the growth of the event as well as the impact being realized not only by the suppliers but also among the purchasing audience. I remain confident that through this catalogue even greater successes will be gained as we continue to provide readily accessible channels through which all interested parties can source authentic and superbly crafted Jamaican-made items” he remarked.

The Christmas in July initiative has boosted the purchase of Jamaican-made items where local manufacturers and artisans have earned more than $100 million from the tourism industry and corporate Jamaica since its inception. It is a collaborative effort of the Tourism Linkages Network and its partners: the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC), Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), Jamaica Manufacturers’ and Exporters Association (JMEA), Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) and Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA).
